You have to start with the basics. Get you engineering certs then see if your employer is looking for CEH skills. Most reputable training companies will not let you take CEH until you are working in a security capacity.

I think that one of the real difficulties people face when going online, especially in the current economic climate, is the need to stay focused and upbeat. It is easy to get distracted by the next great marketing scheme. And, it is easy to get discouraged when early efforts do not pay off. You have to stay motivated and keep plugging away.

Often before you get to do what you enjoy you have to get through jobs you don’t necessarily like. I used work at Honda manufacturing and must say that manufacturers pay well anyway:)

Although 14 does seem like an early time to choose what subjects to take, it also wouldn’t work very well if left to much later. Most people know at least what subjects they enjoy at that age, even if they don’t know what career they want, which is the first step towards finding enjoyable employment.

I agree with what you are saying about trying to use something you already do (e.g. a hobby) and turning it into a career. Taking this approach will not only provide you with a rewarding career, you’ll also want to go to work each day – and that’s gotta be better than dreading work eachday.

I really like the point you made about flexibility. Although we need to plan the things ahead, at the same time we must be prepared of any untoward happenings that may change the course of our plan.Being prepared is more important and one can be prepared only if one is flexible enough.

Well honestly the engineering career is not very easy. There is so many things involved. As all the comments and the article has mentioned. But if engineering is something you love to do, you should live u with it. It’s better to work hard with something you love rather than working less in something you don’t like.

It is tragic that people give up because they get discouraged. Quite likely, they allowed some of their discouragement to affect their job search long before they gave up, reducing their chances for success. Maintaining a positive, confident attitude is critical.
